Hello to the most incredible community!
I hope you're taking care of yourself this week — and if you're not quite there yet, that's okay. That's what this newsletter is for.
This week's questions come from three people whose bodies are waving the same flag in three different ways: a reader whose fatty liver keeps getting worse since losing their gallbladder, a woman in menopause who's exhausted no matter what she tries, and someone whose lifelong migraines are stealing their work and their joy.
Here's the thread tying them together — your liver, your gut, your hormones, and the daily inputs that either calm inflammation or feed it. Get those right and the whole system starts to turn. Let's get into it.
Here's what we're covering in today's questions:

Thank you for being here. Now on to the questions!
When weight won't budge and your liver's overwhelmed, start with your blood sugar.
Fatty liver and stubborn weight gain almost always trace back to one thing: insulin. When your blood sugar runs high, your liver stores the overflow as fat — and the cycle feeds itself.
Berberine Plus uses dihydroberberine (DHB) — a form your body absorbs up to 5x better than standard berberine — to support healthy blood sugar, insulin sensitivity, and weight management. Those are the exact levers behind a fatty liver. Pair it with LIVER BOOST (Nurse Doza's go-to in today's very first answer) and you're working both ends of the problem at once.

Q: I hope you get this question, Nurse Doza! How do you reverse fatty liver? My doctors haven't been helpful and they don't seem to know what to do. It seems to be getting worse ever since I had my gallbladder removed years ago. I run to the bathroom after every meal and I keep putting on weight. It seems hopeless!
A: Nurse Doza: The liver is the only organ that, when cut in half, can regenerate completely. No other organ can do that, and that's why I have and will continue to see fatty liver reversed in our clinic. A fatty liver was developing while you were having gallbladder issues. It is rare that someone will not have any issues or problems with their health and digestion after their gallbladder has been removed. 1 billion people around the world have a fatty liver, and not only is this reversible, but in most cases, with the right lifestyle, fatty liver can also be prevented. This is how you do it at home.
How to reverse a fatty liver at home: There are no medications for a fatty liver. Lifestyle got us into this and lifestyle will get us out!
Change your diet. Cut out processed, inflammatory foods such as bread, rice, pasta, corn, soy, sodas, fast food, bacon, seed oils, alcohol and processed sugar. I know it can be overwhelming, so keep it simple — eat single, one-ingredient foods like avocados, eggs, salmon, blueberries, garlic, sweet potatoes, olives, beets, or follow the Mediterranean diet.
Consider fasting: 24–36 hrs, 1–4x/month for the next 3–6 months. Fasting reduces fatty liver, lowers insulin resistance and reduces visceral and muscle fat.
Start our LIVER BOOST supplement with 16 different nutrients that help the liver make antioxidants to reduce fatty liver and inflammation throughout the body. When the liver is at its healthiest, you can lose weight, manage autoimmune issues better, not get sick as much, and even have healthier skin and hormones. (Our LIVER BOOST helps regulate xenoestrogens…..which are self-made, inflammatory estrogens that come from GMO soy, BPA lining, pesticides, and even oral birth control!)
Continue this approach for the next 3–12 months, or however long you need to see improvements in your labs, imaging, and physical and emotional health.
These are the labs I would order to address fatty liver:
AST
ALT
GGT
hsCRP
Insulin
Leptin — fat cell hormone that controls appetite (high leptin is found in insulin resistance: High Insulin = High Leptin)
Extra credit: If you're not seeing the results you wanted, or you want to accelerate reversing your fatty liver, work on repairing your gut as well. After all, you develop a leaky gut before you develop a fatty liver — inflammatory foods and drinks go into the gut first to be absorbed, then they get carried over to the liver for storage (this is how fatty liver develops and is linked to leaky gut). Take our Digestion course where we break down fatty liver, what to do after your gallbladder has been removed, and how to fix leaky gut.
Lost your gallbladder? Your digestion didn't have to go with it.
If you're running to the bathroom after meals, bloating, or watching your liver numbers climb since surgery — there's a full playbook for exactly that. Nurse Doza's Digestion course walks through what to do after gallbladder removal, how to fix the leaky gut that sets fatty liver in motion, and how to rebuild healthy digestion step by step.
It's one of his most practical courses — and right now it's just $10.
Q: Hi Nurse Doza! I saw your video about labs for being tired all the time. I feel like it's my cortisol! I have been in menopause for years so I know that doesn't help. But what if it's not just cortisol, or it's something else completely different? I am going to see my doctor next month for some new lab work and I want to know what I should ask them to order to figure this out! I am so sick and tired of being tired all the time! Thank you for all your help! Love your podcast and I am going to join your school one day!
A: Nurse Doza: Low energy can come from problems with your hormones. Hormone issues can be complex and confusing, but they don't have to be. The best way to find out which hormone is causing your low energy is to get your hormones checked in lab work. Here is a list of hormones that I would order if you were my client:
Cortisol — "stress hormone"
DHEA-s — tied to sleep and stress
TSH — thyroid
TPO — thyroid antibodies (think Hashimoto's)
Insulin — tied to weight gain, diabetes, fatty liver, PCOS
Estrogen (women) — most women never, ever have this lab checked
Testosterone (men) — low testosterone is common in women too
The great news is that if any or all of these hormones are out of range in your labs, there are plenty of natural ways to get them into optimal ranges. Optimal hormones means optimal energy.
When you get your labs done, book a consult with me to go over them and come up with your own personalized plan to address the low energy and the hormone imbalances. Right now we have a $99 consult special going on — once you book online, you can send me your labs and questions ahead of time for me to go over. I promise you, I will help you find the answers you're looking for.
You've got the lab list. Now get someone to actually read it.
Today's first two questions handed you a stack of labs to order — AST, ALT, GGT, insulin, cortisol, thyroid, estrogen, and more. But a lab result you can't interpret doesn't change anything.
For $99, send Nurse Doza your labs ahead of time and get them read line by line, with a personalized plan for the energy, hormone, and metabolic issues hiding in the numbers. This is the fastest way to stop guessing and start fixing.
Q: Nurse Doza, I have been dealing with painful migraines my whole life. Is there anything natural I can do that can help? I'm tired of the meds and my work and my personal life are suffering. I need help!
A: Nurse Doza: Migraines could mean inflammation in the body. It doesn't always mean the inflammation is coming from your head — inflammation anywhere in the body could lead to a migraine. Migraines could be an indication that something bigger is going to happen, and should be addressed asap.
Possible causes of migraines:
Problems with blood circulation (anywhere in the body) — poor nitric oxide system, poor MTHFR gene, prolonged indoor sitting, plaque buildup
Food sensitivity — dairy, corn, gluten, food dyes, high fructose corn syrup, aspartame, seed oils
Gut inflammation — poor gut microbiome, leaky gut
Nutrient deficiency — B12, Iron, B6, Magnesium, Vitamin D
Neurotransmitter deficiency — Serotonin, dopamine, GABA, glutamate
Hormone imbalance — Thyroid, cortisol, serotonin, estrogen
Low Omega 3 fatty acids — omega 3s are natural "anti-inflammation"
Low daily sunlight
Poor sleep
Dehydration
Uncontrolled blood sugar — Diabetes (Type 1 & 2)
Autoimmune disorder — Hashimoto's, Epstein Barr
Previous infections — Lyme, Epstein Barr, Shingles, mold
I would try a detox lifestyle where you lower inflammation in the body and inflammation going into the body. Our environment, our mindset, what we eat and drink, and who we surround ourselves with can make migraines worse or better.
How to detox, feel better, and lower chronic migraines:
Cut out anything inflammatory in your life: friends, family, work, food, alcohol, drugs, toxins. If you're struggling, or need a new community that supports you, please join our online School of Doza — a place for people like you who want to get healthier.
Take vitamin D3 (5000 units daily) — your vitamin D level represents how strong your immune system is. A strong immune system does not have migraines in it.
Detox your liver — the liver produces antioxidants that reduce inflammation. Nutrients like NAC, Turmeric, Green tea, and selenium have all been shown to reduce inflammation that could lead to migraines. All of those are found in our LIVER BOOST, our no.1 detox supplement.
Make sleep a priority — sleep detoxes the brain, lowers inflammation, and reduces migraines. Migraines = sleep deficiency.
Fix your gut — your gut is your "1st brain." It makes neurotransmitters, protects your body from infections, and helps rid the body of unwanted toxins — all of which are tied to migraines. Fixing your gut can also reduce food sensitivities and autoimmune flareups.
Support your adrenal glands — chronic migraines mean chronic stress in the body, which means lots of cortisol production. Adrenal supplements like our CHILL powder contain L-theanine and GABA, nutrients known to help relieve stress.
Address any heart issues — migraines can be related to poor heart health. Get your heart labs, get a brain MRI, manage your blood pressure better, and address your sleep apnea. Even genetics like the MTHFR gene can influence blood circulation.
Extra credit: If you're unsure how to start, book a consult with me. I can help you lower the number of debilitating migraines you're having. You don't have to suffer anymore!
Your liver makes glutathione. Sometimes it needs backup.
Every answer today comes back to inflammation — and your body's master tool for fighting it is glutathione, made in your liver. But when your liver is overwhelmed (fatty liver, chronic stress, poor diet), production drops right when you need it most.
SHED delivers glutathione straight to your bloodstream, skipping the gut breakdown that makes most oral antioxidants fall flat — fast, measurable backup for energy, brain fog, and inflammation.
Your body isn't broken. It's asking for better inputs.
A liver that can finally keep up. Hormones you can actually see on paper. A nervous system that isn't running on inflammation.
Start with one change. Do it daily. Repeat.
