Hello to the most incredible community!

I hope you're taking care of yourselves out there — and if you're not, that's okay. That's what this newsletter is for.

This week's questions are about three things that seem unrelated on the surface: a gallbladder that's in trouble, a body struggling after that gallbladder is gone, and a brain that can't stop reaching for sugar.

But here's what they all have in common — the liver, the gut, and the choices we make every single day. When these systems are off, the whole body feels it. Let's get into it.

Here's what we're covering in today's questions:

If your digestion and energy feel off, start by looking at what you're doing every single morning.

Most people go straight to coffee. But for some, coffee can feel a bit more stimulating or harsh on digestion and stress levels.

That's why I drink Pique's Nandaka instead — the Rolls-Royce of coffee alternatives. Full-spectrum Reishi, Lion's Mane, fermented Pu'er tea, and Ayurvedic spices, all working together to support digestion, calm your nervous system, and give you clean, grounded energy without the crash.

If your liver and gut are asking for support, your morning ritual is the best place to start.

Q: Nurse Doza, I need help with my gallbladder. The doctors told me that I was going to need to have surgery soon to get it removed. I don’t want surgery, but I’m in so much pain. What do I do?

A: Nurse Doza: Detox the liver. The liver is attached to the gallbladder, and the liver was the problem to begin with. Pain is a sign that dysfunction is occurring in the body, and most likely it means inflammation. The liver is great at making antioxidants, which help reduce inflammation and aid in better digestion, which leads to a healthier liver and gallbladder.

Your diet and/or a combination of either oral birth control, poor genetics (like the MTHFR gene), and leaky gut led to the development of gallstones, gallbladder sludge, and the need to get the gallbladder surgically removed. The liver makes the bile, and the gallbladder stores the bile. 1 in 4 people have a fatty liver, which means they make too much bile, and getting the gallbladder removed will not fix the liver making too much bile.

Detoxing the liver is a lifestyle change that can help you with pain and better bile regulation. A healthy liver can also help you with weight loss, good poops, better skin, and consistent energy throughout the day. We have seen wonders when someone detoxes their liver, with some people not needing gallbladder surgery after all.

How to save your gallbladder:

  1. Change your mindset

    1. Be your own health advocate. The doctor isn't going to “save” you. You will.

  2. Change your diet

    a. Cut out inflammatory foods like diary, bread, rice, pasta, fast food, sodas, alcohol, & late night eating (past 8pm-9pm)

    b. Follow the Mediterranean diet and add more cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower and brussel sprouts

  3. Detox the liver (this is what we talk about everyday) - Here are great ways to detox the liver:

    1. Our LIVER BOOST supplement (start with 1-4x/am on an empty stomach)

    2. Fasting: 24-36hrs 1-4x/month (this is our FASTING podcast that explains how to do it correctly)

  1. Repair the gut

    1. Start our GUT powder (1-3 scoops with water in am on empty stomach)

    2. Eat more fermented foods such as sauerkraut, Kimchi, olives, pickles, beets.

    3. Eat healthy starches like sweet potatoes, seaweed, and avocados

  1. Repeat daily

Extra credit: We have a $10 online Gallbladder course with classes, education and advice that teaches you how to make your gallbladder healthier, or how to help you after it's been removed.

Q: I am tired all the time and I can’t poop. I have had my gallbladder removed and now I’m told I have a fatty liver. Help me!

A: Nurse Doza: Got you! This is a lifestyle change that will help give you the best energy ever, the most refreshing poops, and it can help reverse your fatty liver. You might even lose some healthy weight along the way!

How to have tons of energy, good poops and a healthy liver:

  1. Go to bed before 10 pm, or 2 hours sooner than usual

  1. Get morning sunlight the next day. If you don’t get a lot of morning sunlight where you live, taking Vitamin D3 and/or investing in a red light panel could be two of the best investments you ever make. (This is my favorite redlight panel that I use every day at home and in the clinic. Use code nursedoza)

  1. Cut out inflammatory foods like dairy, bread, rice, pasta, fast food, sodas, alcohol, & late night eating (past 8 pm-9 pm)

  1. Follow the Mediterranean diet or the Paleo diet

  1. Start Fasting: 24-36hrs 1-4x/month (this is our FASTING podcast that explains how to do it correctly)

  1. Start our GOODPOOPS.com protocol. It's supplements that help you have good poops.

  1. Take supplements for energy. You can take any of the following supplements separately or together for the ultimate energy stack:

  1. BOOST - My favorite energy pre-work. It comes in an individual travel packet that can be mixed with water. It tastes delicious and you can feel the energy within 15-20 minutes.

  1. NAD+  - At home injectable NAD+ is an absolute “game changer” when it comes to consistent energy and focus throughout the week. Use code doza40

  1. BLISS - Our most “unique” supplement because its a sublingual powder that works within seconds to minutes to help you make Serotonin & Dopamine instantly. The science comes from BLISS’s ability to support the MTHFR gene and we recommend taking BLISS right before any NAD+ injection as it can help “methylate” the NAD+ for a smooth, energetic experience that can lasts for hours to days for most people.

Ultimate Nurse Doza Energy Stack Protocol:

  1. Take BLISS

  2. Inject NAD+

  3. Drink BOOST

What you drink every day can either support your body — or work against it.

If you're looking to support your digestion and overall wellness, the small daily choices are what move the needle over time.

Pique's Nandaka — the Rolls-Royce of coffee alternatives — is the simplest upgrade I can recommend. It's rich, grounding, and designed to support digestion and your nervous system from the inside out. No jitters. No crash. Just calm, steady energy that works with your body instead of pushing against it.

Q: Hi Nurse Doza, I'm addicted to sugar. What should I do?

A: Nurse Doza: Find healthier ways to make dopamine. Dopamine is a hormone/neurotransmitter that provides our body with focus and motivation. It also gives us pleasure and reward, which is why chocolate is so hard to give up. My theory is that people who are addicted to sugar usually do not produce a lot of dopamine to begin with, and sugar is one of the fastest ways to get instant dopamine. If a person has little to no dopamine production, that individual will always look for dopamine from the source that has given it to them before, like sugar, nicotine, caffeine, work, or even exercise. That’s why we need to find healthy ways to produce more dopamine, so that a person won't need to “eat their feelings” to feel better.

B vitamins and supplements can help a person make dopamine naturally. Vitamin B9 (Folate) and Vitamin B6 (P’5’P) directly contribute to the production of neurotransmitters like dopamine. Due to the

MTHFR gene, almost 60-70% of people have a problem using B vitamins to make dopamine. Mix that with the idea that most people are malnourished, anemic, or just do not eat green leafy vegetables, and it's easy to see how people can become dopamine-deficient throughout life.

SAMe & Trimethylglycine (TMG) are two methylated nutrients that help the Vitamin B9 and the Vitamin B6 make more dopamine. Both SAMe & TMG are found in our BLISS supplement, which we refer to as our “natural mood booster”. BLISS can possibly increase your dopamine naturally and what's great about increasing your dopamine naturally is that you are not craving sugary foods.

I would also look into at-home NAD+ injections as there is tons of research showing that NAD+ had been used for years to help with addiction and withdrawal symptoms. We have used NAD+ injections in the clinic for years and it definitely can help curb your appetite and give you tons of energy right after each injection. Start at home weekly injections, and notice with each passing week how your cravings change. (Go to tryshed.com and use code doza40)

The bugs in your gut microbiome make you crave carbs and sugars.

Extra credit: Consider taking our BERBERINE PLUS as it can act like a “natural” GLP-1 to help with appetite and blood sugar. People also report better weight and portion control while taking it.

Extra extra credit: If you want to “geek out” and learn more about the MTHFR gene, I have a LIVE weekly MTHFR course going on right now! Classes are Tuesday @5:30pm cst. Sign up here.

Your body isn't broken. It's asking for better inputs.

A healthier liver. A gut that actually works. A brain that isn't running on sugar fumes.

Start with one change. Do it daily. Repeat.

To your health,
Nurse Doza
